10 week paid summer internships are available for visiting undergraduate students , secondary science teachers , and faculty at primarily undergraduate-serving colleges and universities. The goal of the program is to provide mentored research experiences in plant genomics and build relationships in the greater scientific community for visiting participants and the whole project team.

Plant Genomics Researchers at Michigan State University collaborate on a summer training program for students enrolled in undergraduate studies in biology, chemistry, chemical engineering and computational sciences. The ten week program is designed to give students experience in the theory and practice of genomics and includes a wide variety of projects and participating laboratories. While the main emphasis is on gaining laboratory experience, the ten week program includes informal lectures from faculty and social activities.

Summer Research Experiences
During the summer of 2009 genomics internship positions will be available for undergraduate students, secondary science teachers, and college faculty members. Stipends, mentoring, and a variety of participating labs will make this a great opportunity for those aspiring to gain an exciting summer experience.
